Meet Sharon Carne, Co-founder and Director of Programs at Sound Wellness Institute. The Wellness Universe (WU): Hello Sharon, please tell us about yourself and what inspired you to write your chapter in the book The Wellness Universe Guide to Complete Self-Care: 25 Tools For Transformation.
Sharon Carne (SC): When I was 10 months old, I almost died. For as long as I can remember, there has been an unexpected result of this experience. Every time I look into a person’s eyes, I see the brilliant spark of their being. What breaks my heart, is that so many people don’t even know it is there. A world full of busyness and distraction keeps folks disconnected from this spark. I am passionate about helping people see and connect with this brilliant essence of their deepest sacred self.
The near-death experience as a baby also sparked deep empathy in my being that took most of a lifetime to figure out how to manage and to hone its gifts to support my work in sound healing.
Music is the language of the heart, so I naturally gravitated to a career in music study and instruction. As my spiritual journey deepened, the world of sound healing barged into my awareness as my true path.
Over twenty-five years of sharing sound healing with individual clients and many groups of people have taught me what our ancestors always knew. Sound is a catalyst for connecting with your heart and your brilliant, sacred self.
WU: What tool do you share in this book, and what can we expect to experience as a result of using this tool?
SC: There are three tools that I share in the book. Transformation does not happen unless the nervous system is regulated. That means managing stress in today’s chaotic world. The first tool I share is called Nervous System Balance to bring calm and to stimulate one of the most important cycles for wellbeing in the body.
Following the Nervous System Balance, the second tool is to connect with your heart. Your heart, not your brain, is your transformation engine. Gentle humming, to nourish your heart, is also part of this process. Sound is food for your nervous system, and gentle humming, with your voice, is super food for your heart.
The third tool is an experience to connect with your deepest, sacred self and the heart of your higher self. This place is called the Sacred Heart Chamber in many ancient traditions. This is the place where that precious connection is made with the brilliance of your inner divine spark.
WU: Can you tell us more about the Sacred Heart Chamber?
SC: The Sacred Heart Chamber is located in the thymus area above your physical heart and is the most sacred place in your being. It holds the connection to the heart of your higher self and is accessible only to you. It is where you connect directly with your inner divine essence and the heart of your Higher Self. For millennia, this knowledge has been kept secret within spiritual traditions around the world. Because so many people are opening their hearts, it has brought this awareness forward to be more easily available. As you connect more often with your heart, a journey is sparked that guides you to this sacred place within.
